Re my earlier posting. Many thnaks to everybody who responded. It appears
that this was due to a runaway SYS_CHECK. For some reason we had two
running - both had been running for hours and seemed unable to complete. We
killed these processes and all is now fine.
Many thanks - Tony
I have a GS140 2 node ASE cluster. One node is suffering:
load averages: 6.83, 6.78, 6.81
09:51:24
85 processes: 7 running, 29 sleeping, 49 idle
CPU states: 9.5% user, 0.0% nice, 90.4% system, 0.0% idle
Memory: Real: 247M/4012M act/tot Virtual: 25031M use/tot Free: 3351M
PID USERNAME PRI NICE SIZE RES STATE TIME CPU COMMAND
24628 root 52 -5 1688K 131K run 167.5H 91.20% log
24627 root 49 -5 1688K 57K run 167.5H 76.30% log
Looking at these two processes we see:
root 24627 24628 87.7 Feb 08 ?? 6-23:30:00 log
//var/adm/patch/lo
g/session.log /usr/sbin/e0_23917
root 24628 1 66.5 Feb 08 ?? 6-23:30:05 log
//var/adm/patch/lo
g/session.log /usr/sbin/e0_23917
But doing a:
recbe_at_root>ls -l /usr/sbin/e0_23917
/usr/sbin/e0_23917 not found
We see this image is not found. Anybody know what this is? Is it safe to
try to kill these?
This is a live production cluster so we cant afford any down time to
investigate.
Thanks - Tony
