Managers,
I am currently backing up to a TZ887 autoloader using vdump within shell
scripts. I am approaching the point where I need to utilize mcutil to
manipulate more than one tape due to expanding filesystems. I know how to
use mcutil and am fairly proficient at shell scripts but I don't understand
how to use vdump in a way that will allow me to script the changing of media
when the first one is full. vdump will prompt for a new tape when the first
one is full but in the past, when running it from a shell script, I remember
an error stating something to the effect that it could not communicate with
the terminal device and it aborted the vdump. If I am not mistaken, vdump
also requires a carriage return to start using the next tape, i.e. "Insert
next tape and press return". Any ideas on how to implement this would be
greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
