Implications of too-small swap

We have a system with 2GB of memory, whose swap was somehow set to be
1999MB. "sys_check" calls it out as a problem, recommends:
        -----------------------------------------------------
Operational: Add more disk swap space.
The total disk swap size ( 1999 MB ) is less than 1.0 multiplied by the
available physical memory ( 2003.0 MB) after the system boots
( 2003 MB 2048 MB ).
The total amount of swap space is recommended to be at least 1.0 multiplied by
the physical memory that is available after the system boots.
Note that gh-chunks (0 KB) is not included in this calculation.
        -----------------------------------------------------

To do this, I'm going to have to disassemble at least one other partition
and rebuild, so I'm loathe to do it. Furthermore, it was built with
partitions being advfs, and then lsm on top. We don't have any add'l disk
space on this machine anywhere, so I think the rebuild of 2 partitions is
the only fix. The OS is Tru64 v4.0F. I would consider ignoring it if
this were a development system, but it'll be production, so I'm looking
for input here. What do you folks think about leaving it vs. fixing it
now?

Thanks.
