Hi all ,
I am sorry if this is not the right list for this question. Problem
is with sendmail supplied with TRU64 Version 4.0f.
machine is an DS20 with 1Gb & Tru64 Version 4.0f Patch kit 1.
This machine by default resolves host names with an DNS Server . However
due to operational reasons we need to forward certain mails to an
internal server(SERVERA) which has an illegal address. Hence I would
like to resolve the hostname for the internal server(SERVERA) using the
hosts file and the rest using the DNS Server.
The sendmail book says that svc.conf will be used under OSF. The
svc.conf is as follows
aliases=local
group=local
hosts=local,bind
netgroup=local
networks=local
passwd=local
protocols=local
rpc=local
services=local
Whenever I address a mail to the internal server using sendmail it tries
to resolve using DNS only and gives an error message
Host unknown (Name server: SERVERA: host not found)
NOTE:SERVERA used as example is a FQDN in the hosts file.
Any help will be valuable.
Thanks & regards
