libdl.so for 4.0D?

Hello...

  I'm trying to compile a product (using gmake/gcc, etc) that requires a
library
of 'libdl.so,libdl.a'. I can't seem to locate this but it appears it is on
the
glibc2xx distribution. Has anybody either successfully compiled that or
knows where
I can get a binary version? We're using 4.0D.
