Sendmail question?

We are running the version of sendmail that is with tru64 version 4.0f and
this is something I see from time to time.

running ps -u root
 
sendmail started by server158.rm
sendmail started by chevalier
 
are these normal?

My assumption would be these are email connections to are stystem? Is
that correct?
