Just a little addition to my previous question. This problem happens with
every tape that we have tried. So we pretty much ruled out a tape problem.
Thanks Again!

Subject: Tape problems
Hello,
We are having a problem viewing the content or restoring from a tape backup.
We are getting an error that says "tar: <Offset 0> I/O error". It seems to
create the archive fine using either tar or dump, but when trying to view
the content or do a restore we get that error. Any information would be
greatly appreciated. We are using Digital Unix version 4.0f
Thank-You,
