sharing /auth and /home

Dear Managers,

We are trying to share password on Tru64 Unix ver 4.0F with ASE 1.6.

Do you know if we can just NFS mount the /auth and /home, and we add the
/etc/passwd?

We already have a cluster system running NIS and NFS, but it is quite
difficult to manage. Is there any suggestions from the experts?
