Original message attached at the end of this summary.....
I had a number of responses the most useful of which was as foloows:-

The inquire command that is supposed to autodetect, doesn't! select 3
instead and when asked for device address enter "scsidev_at_2.0.0" (this would
be if the TL800 is on SCSI bus 2 at unit 0). If you're not sure which SCSI
address the TL800 is at run "scu show edt" which will list your devices and
where they are). If this wasn't clear, contact me and I will send you
detailed procedures.

Jef H. HamLin

..... and the most curious of which was:-

Install Networker 5.5.1-001 patch from the Legato web site.
There were some issues with scsi inquire an TL800 that are addressed in this
patch.

Steve Hagan
Compaq

I say curious because it was after I installed patch 5.5.1.001 that all my
hassles
began, ie. my index's and *.res files vanished when I issued the
"nsr_shutdown" command
and restarted with "networker.start".... this led me to go back to 5.5.1, at
least
the reason the scsi inquire not working is explained.....

In any case thanks so much to all who answered.....
Regards,
Leo
