Thanks to everyone who responded so quickly.....too many to list but you know who you are.
Well it appears the following -
1) You can't have multiple volumes on the ROOT domain - therefore I'm gonna have to re-size and restore to make more available !? - A query - you can add extra disks/disk space to the SYS volume of a NETWARE server, but you can't to a Tru64 ROOT DOMAIN (NB this is only with ADVFS installed and not in a cluster env) - perhaps someone from Compaq could comment on that one, whether they have any plans to allow this in a future release?
2) The reason why the FS was filling up was because a script, that runs overnight, hadn't had the device file changed to the new v5.0 one!?!? - got 8 more boxes to do....will have to look out for that one in future. Because of this it was dumping to the file rather than the device - nice one!
