On our TL894, I can use the robot commands to move tapes from one slot to
the next, however, this doesn't seem to work properly with our TZ887 &
TZ877. Is there anyone else using either of these drives that is able to
accomplish this?
We're running DU4.0d with PK5 on both servers.
This is the description of the devices from the MRU robot:
trigger:root# robot show robot
Robot Name: /dev/mc25b Type: SCSI
Media Robot Identifier: DEC TZ Media Changer971B
Slots: 7
Drives: 1
Inports: 0
Outports: 0
Transports: 1
This is what is in the autochanger:
trigger:root# robot show slots
SLOT: 0 Full Source = Slot 0
SLOT: 1 Full Source = Slot 1
SLOT: 2 Full Source = Slot 2
SLOT: 3 Full Source = Slot 3
SLOT: 4 Empty Source = Slot 4
SLOT: 5 Empty Source = Slot 5
SLOT: 6 Empty Source = Slot 6
and if I try to move from one slot to another, I get this error:
trigger:root# robot move slot 3 slot 4
MOVE Cartridge from Slot 3 into Slot 4 using ROBOT /dev/mc25b.
MOVE failed on /dev/mc25b: Robot Illegal request. SENSE KEY: 5,
ASC: 24, ASCQ: 0
The following was installed to enable the robot usage:
trigger:root# setld -i | grep -i -E "cam|robot"
CLCMC315 installed SCSI CAM Medium Changer Driver V3.1E

Thanks...
