Sorry for the latency on this summary. I was on vacation last week.

Many others responded by directing me to check if the kernel had NTP support
built in. I am relatively certain that it does.

I have not yet had time to test the patch, but for now I am assuming that it
works. If I later find that it does not, I will post a follow up.

Also, I would like to see the patches sent to the xntp developers so that the
source can be fixed. I hope Christian will do this, if not, I will ask his
permission to do it myself.
