Frank Wortner" <frank_at_bondnet.com> very helpfull

<mgx_at_ornl.gov> very helpfull
"Joe Fletcher" <joe_at_meng.ucl.ac.uk> very helpfull
"Hoover, Tony" <hoover_at_sal.ksu.edu> very helpfull
hope did not misssed somebody
all the people pointed me to interesting spots in the internet as to :
http://www-arc.com/sara/sara.html i think pretty new (newer than SATAN/SAINT)
http://www.porcupine.org/satan the good old SATAN 1.1 last version and not
developed anymore
http://www.google.com and
http://www.freshmeat.com
you will find there almost everything you want !
Did not consider COPS, because, as Frank Wortner stated :
Beware, however, that Satan really hasn't changed since about
1995, and COPS is pretty much what as it was in 1990. You may have to do
some work to update both -- especially COPS -- for Digital Unix / Tru64
Unix.
End of Frank's Statement
In any case : running SATAN, SARA or SAINT you need to have perl installed.
With SARA and SAINT probably one of the newer Versions (5.0 is not good enough,
got me 5.004 from
http://www.unix.digital.com/demos/freesrc/)
Thanks again for your patience and help !
