This is a partial summary aboutthe maximum speed
of a serial port on XP1000 running Tru64 UNIX 5.0.
The SRM console (latest) only knows speeds up to 57600 bps.
However, the unix seems to allow setting the
speed up to 115200 bps. Whether this has any actual effect is
hard to tell, since I only have an ISDN terminal adapter on the
serial line, single channel 64 kbps. There seems to be a small
difference in data rate, if one changes the serial
line speed from 57600 to 115200 in the /etc/ppp/options -file.
If someone can confirm the maximum speed is 115200, I'd be glad
to hear it. Until I am sure, I can't upgrade the ISDN to
two-channel 128 kbps - what if the serial line can't do better
than 57600 after all?
