Ramifications of turning off ftp daemon

Hi All,

For security reasons, we are considering turn on/off the ftp daemon as needed. First, how do I do that? Second, are there any reasons I should not do this? Currently running tru64 4.0f w/ patch kit 2 on an ES40.
