Clear AlphaServer 400 SRM password

Hello,

Has anyone ever successfully cleared a forgotten SRM console password on an
AlphaServer 400 without Compaq Hardware Support's solution of "replace the
motherboard" (which they shared with me yesterday)? If so, how?
