t64 5.0 patchkit 2 precheck error messages

Hi --

I'm running the precheck for the Tru64 v5.0 patchkit #2 on our
machines. One machine generates these worry-inducing lines
(indicated here by --> arrows) during the precheck:

========
    # ./dupatch -install -kit /usr/tmp/patch_kit -patch all -precheck_only -proceed
    [ routine expected output deleted ]

    Checking patch prerequisites once more...
      (depending upon the number of patches you select, this may take awhile)
--> du: .a: No such file or directory
--> expr: syntax error
--> expr: syntax error

     Checking system space needed for patch installation and backup...

       * Pre-installation check completed.
======

Although the precheck seems to finish OK, the three error lines raise
concern that the actual patch run could go bad. Does anyone out there
know dupatch well enough to comment, either to warn or reassure?
Perhaps I can twiddle something to make the messages go away?
