All,
Our developers have had some problems since we upgraded from V6.1 to V6.2 of
Compaq's C++ compiler, running on 4.0F (patch kit 2), and have concluded
that 6.2 is buggy. The problems are apparently in the runtime library, and
concern string functions.
Has anyone else had any bad experiences with C++ 6.2? How about positive
experiences?
Reporting the 'problem' to Compaq would involve rigorously establishing that
there is a repeatable problem, which would take our developers some time to
do. So any opinions anyone has on the V6.2 C++ compiler would be much
appreciated.
Thanks,
David Meiklejohn
