Dear alpha gurus,
after a long while of abstinence I'm back looking for your help.
I've just installed (dupatch) the 2nd patch t64v50as0002-20000324.tar
on my AS4100 running T64 V5.0 1th patch.
All went nicely, but at doconfig time I got errors. I'm not anymore able
to create a vmunix. I shut down the system and booted it again, but
doconfig still does'nt work.
I'm lucky and the previous (pre 2nd patch) /vmunix seems to work
properly and now I'm using it.
doconfig fails the first time with ld complaining that
edt_dir is undefined
.....
loading vmunix.sys
ld:
Error: Undefined:
edt_dir
BOTTICELLI.mod compressed: branch relocation out-of-range, bad object file produced,
can't branch from 0xfffffc00002308d8 to 0xfffffc000065912c
......
the second time (after the following message)
*** NOTE ***
The customized kernel for this machine could not be successfully
created. One possible problem could be kernel layered products
that might be incompatible with the base operating system. This
script will now automatically attempt to build a kernel using the
base operating system only.
Is this ok? (y/n) [y]: y
the error is as follows:
......
loading vmunix.sys
ld:
Error: Undefined:
gdslave
gdattach
BOTTICELLI.mod compressed: branch relocation out-of-range, bad object file produced,
can't branch from 0xfffffc00002308d8 to 0xfffffc000064d69c
......
BTW after the above second error in doconfig, and I choose not to reboot
the system, dupatch, instead of quitting, started over displaying the
infos about each patch. (I cntrl-c to quit).
I attach the dupatch session.log for more accurate description of the
error.
I'll be glad to have any news from you,
Thank you very much from Italy,
Emanuele
