NFS Hangs Between Tru64 Unix 5.0 and Network Appliance

Whenever I try to edit a file that lives on an NFS mounted file system,
Tru64 Unix 5.0 starts complaining about "NFS file server not responding."
The file server in question is a Network Appliance F230 running NetApp
5.2.2, and it is most definitely responding -- a 4.0F system that is a
virtual "twin" of the 5.0 box and on the same subnet has no problems at all.
The file system is mounted with all the default NFS options in both cases.
Has anyone experienced similar problems?
