Hi,
Slightly OT: I've just finished a port of KDE2 Beta (1.92) to Tru64. It
can be had from:
ftp://finwds01.tu-graz.ac.at/pub/kde2
Thanks for your attention // Tom
P.S.: Here's the README File:
KDE 2 Beta Version (1.92) for Tru64 systems as of 20-Jun-2000.
--------------------------------------------------------------
ported by Tom Leitner, tom_at_radar.tu-graz.ac.at
Notes:
a.) No warranty of any kind.
b.) It can be installed in parallel to KDE 1.1.2 as the files
are located in /usr/local/kde2. However avoid to start it from
a user account where the KDE 1.1.2 desktop is already used. I've
not tested this and it is likely to garble your desktop without a
way back to KDE 1.1.2. Use a fresh user account for testing.
c.) Included is kde-qt-addon, kdelibs, kdesupport, kdebase, kdeutils
kdeamin, kdenetwork, kdegames and koffice.
d.) Password checking is likely to fail and even more likely in
enhanced security mode.
e.) kdesktop does not always start properly. Everything looks normal
but no desktop icons appear. Log-out and log-in again. It might
keep on running then.
f.) Compiled on Tru64 4.0f. Might as well run on 4.0d - 4.0g as well
on 5.0x. Also it will only run on EV56 alphas or later.
g.) No MME sound support.
h.) Disk space requirements: 120MB in /usr/local/kde2. You might as well
install into another directory and set a link to /usr/local/kde2.
i.) Installation:
as ROOT: cd /
gzip -dc kde2_tru64_beta_20000620.tar.gz | tar xpf -
as USER: cp /usr/local/kde2/Tru64.xsession .xsession
chmod 700 .xsession
log-out and log-in again via CDE
