Greetings Managers,

I have a GS140, Tru64 4.0F PK3 running with 3TB of DASD. I have seen many
erros on drives
and I was wondering which number after the "errors=" is soft errors and
which number is the
actual "hard errors" on a drive. I get this info from doing: file
/dev/rrze96h
The output from that command is listed below. This is a machine that has 8
EV6 processors
and 8GB of memory and is connected to 6 StorageWorks DASD cabinets via fiber
channel and
brocade switches.

I am wanting to learn how to best read these stats to best support my team.
Any feedback
would be greatly appreciated.

/dev/rrze96h: character special (8/196871) SCSI #12 HSG80 disk #772
                         (SCSI ID #0) (SCSI LUN #4) errors = 570/13

Thank You,
Dennis Peacock
