We are currently running a Tru64/Digital Unix environment, with most
machines in the 4.0 hierarchy. Currently, our NIS setup has one
AlphaStation 150 as our NIS/C2 master, and an older machine as the slave.
We want to upgrade our system so that the 150 becomes the slave and a
Personal Workstation 433 becomes the master. I tried to upgrade the
machines about a month ago, and while it looked like the new master was
pushing maps out, any NIS clients were refusing logins ("Cannot rewrite
protected password entry.")
Is there a proper way to migrate an NIS/C2 master to a new machine?
