Changing a users account

Hello,

I need some info on how to change a user from the regular password file
into the NIS password file. I thought that I saw a merge routine
somewhere but am unable to find anything. Can I just edit the
/etc/yp/src/prpasswd file and add the entry and delete it from the
/etc/passwd file or do I need to do other things to get it set up
correctly? Thanks for any info...
