All...
Apologies for this nubie question. I am a TRU64'er converting to Solaris...
On a TRU64 box, there is an X utility called 'dxkerneltuner' and a command
line equivalent called 'sysconfig' which you can use to view the setting of
kernel parameters.
1. What is the equivalent on a Solaris-7 box? I have checked the
/etc/system file for absolute changes to parameters but don't know how to
query the kernel for the value of parameters not currently listed in this
file (e.g.., SEMMNI).
2. Is this stuff (tuning/kernel parameters and how you change them etc)
documented anywhere on the web. I don't have any SOLARIS paper
documentation.
3. Can anybody recommend any good Solaris admin books? I am aware of the
O'Reilly series but don't know if people think any other publications are
better.
Many thanks in advance.
