SUMMARY: cron daemon

Overwhelming consensus of the group was this would be a very bad thing to-do
and could result in an unsupported configuration:-

PS this was my view as well but needed some backup on this matter.

UNIX 4.0F

We currently start the cron daemon via rc3.d/S57cron one of our guys who is
from an AIX back ground has suggested we move this and start it via inittab
with a respawn option. Has any one done this and is there any thing to
lookout for?
