Hi there manageres!
Ive got this "old" problem I cant figure out.....and I have followed the
instructions in the Tru64/Dunix-Fax, but STILL i got the problem.
Ive got to Alpha-Servers with 4.0f and now enhanced security, and I used to
log on to them from a PC using Reflection X 7. Now, of cause, I get the
'Cannot obtain database information on this terminal'
-error whenever I try to login from my PC.
The PC is called (fqd) pcx.mydomain.com, and the IP-adress is 10.0.0.5.
Ive added these two lines in the /etc/securettys
pcx.mydomain.com:0
pcx:0
This line is added to /etc/auth/system/devassign
pcx\:0:v_devs=pcx\:0,pcx.mydomain.com\:0,10.0.0.5\:0:\v_type=xdispla
y:chkent:
And in /etc/auth/system/ttys
pcx\:0:t_devname=pcx\:0:t_xdisplay:t_login_timeout#0:chkent:
As an alternative to the last two, I've used a copy of the 'local'-lines in
files, and modified them. This did not work either.
In the /etc/auth/system-directory a ttys.db-file is created, and it does not
contain anything called pcx.
pcx.mydomain.com is added to the servers host-table.
Any suggestions???
And does anybody know how to generate a new ttys.db-file without booting the
server?
Thanx in advance.
