Hi,
I am trying to get a single-user backup of our system prior to
installing the V5.0A patch 1 kit and I am getting the following
errors:
vdump: error [13] posting event: sys.unix.fs.advfs.fset.backup.lock
vdump: error [13] posting event: sys.unix.fs.advfs.fset.backup.unlock
rmfset: error [13] posting event: sys.unix.fs.advfs.fset.rm.lock
rmfset: error [13] posting event: sys.unix.fs.advfs.fset.rm.unlock
Environment is Tru64 V5.0A, LSM and AdvFS
on a 500MHz DS20E with 4 x 9.1GB disk and a TZ877 tape drive.
The procedure creates clones of all interesting filesets, backs up the
clones, then deletes them.
I suspect that something is not initialized in single-user mode, so
that AdVFS cannot do its locking.
I used the following set of commands to initialize things after the
single-user boot:
# /sbin/lsmbstartup
# /sbin/bcheckrc
# /sbin/update
# /sbin/swapon -s
# /usr/sbin/lmf reset
I realize I may be over-engineering the solution by using fileset
clones in single-user mode, but I'd rather use the same procedure for
single-user backups as we use for normal backups.
Can anyone advise on whether these errors are serious?
