People,

Does anyone have any notes on how to clobber T64 V5.0A lovely dynamic device
re-numbering feature? It is a beautiful feature this Abstraction Layer, but
becomes a gross pain in the neck (or other anatomical part) when one is
trying to build numerous servers via splitting clone sets and running custom
build config scripts.

The scenario is we will have host A with a clone set, we then take one of
the clone members and stick it in Host B, place two new disks on in Host A
and one in Host B, we will then run a script to re-configure host B,
changing the rc.config script etc, and then re-sync the clones.

Simple elegant for bulk production of our servers, except the disks keep
changing their device entries, hosing advfs requiring re-linking of the
/etc/fdmns directory etc.

Comments and suggestions welcome. NB: we are required to v5.0A for
integration with our SAN's and other new features.

Regs,

Guy
