Hi admins,
Our unix-administrator wants to switch to lazy swap on one or more machines.
Reason: to improve performance and to avoid swapspace trouble. He asks us if
this can have negative effects on SAP and/or Oracle.
As he is actually a SAP administrator with not that much unix knowledge (
plus he's from HP ;) so... ), I'd like to make sure that his decision is the
right one. Therefor; following questions:
-Is it advisable to use lazy swap?
-Does anyone know anything about trouble with SAP and/or Oracle after
swithing to lazy swap?
-Is there really a performance gain as well?
-Are there downsides to lazy swap that we do not know of?
Thanks!
J.
