Sorry for the belated summary as I was on leave for the past 5 days.
My sincere thanks to Steven Hancock, Ed Murphy, Gert-Jan Hilbrands , Alan, Dr. Thomas P. Blinn, Mary and Olaf Kasper for their wonderful responses.
Here goes the answer for my query which can be found at the bottom of this message...
The most important, general purpose file systems in Tru64 UNIX are the UNIX File System (UFS) - An implementation of the Berkeley Fast File System circa 4.3 Tahoe & the Advanced File System (AdvFS) - A new transaction log based (or journaled) file system - It's derived from the veritas file system which is available for some other unix flavors. Most UNIX variants support some type of Berkeley FFS-like file system. The AdvFS is unique to Tru64 UNIX and is designed for large, 24x7 operations.
Tru64 also supports other file system types, including:
* Memory-based UFS (MFS)
* CD-ROM File System (CDFS) - An ISO 9660 CDROM file system with the Rock Ridge extensions.
* DVD-ROM File System (DVDFS)
* Network File System (NFS)
* File-on-File File System (FFS)
* Distributed File System (DFS)
* CFS - A version of AdvFS usable in a cluster; concurrent mounts from multiple systems at the same time. Available beginning in V5.0A.
