Hello...
An update to my problem :
I'm using 5.0a on the client which is a nis client to a 5.0a nis master
and nfs mounting a file system (non-root mount) off of a 4.0d nfs server.
When I log into my 5.0a client in a CDE session, opening up a dtterm window
dumps me into the /usr/dt/appconfig/types/C directory. Immediately
cd'ing to my home directory puts me there, but doing a 'ls' gives me a
.: permission denied message. I can at this point list other files and
dirs under my home directory, however - and manipulate files using the
DT file manager.
HOWEVER - if I WAIT 2-5 mintues, I can then view my home directory properly!
Subsequent openings of dtterm windows still puts me into the
/usr/dt/appconfig/types/C directory, but I can then just CD to my
home directory and all is well.
Note that this does not happen if I mount the filesystem with root perms.
Could it be a nis timing issue?
Thanks...
