Hi Gurus,

Many thanks to:

Dr. Tom Blinn
Aleksey Tsalolikhin
George Gallen

Although Aleksey and George have said I could remove the link if I
was not planning to use clustering, Dr. Tom Blinn emphasized that I
should not do so because somethings (installupdate, dupatch, and the
like) would be broken. All of them said my problem with vi is not
related to the /tmp size since it occurs with even small files.
Anyway, I kept the link and edited /etc/fstab so that to mount /etc
in a larger, free and pre-tested disk partition. After rebooting I
found out that vi is still slow to come up. They were right. If
someone has any hints they are welcolme. By the way, the problem
does not happen with more or cat.

Thanks again,
