Can't bind multicast packet to port

Hi Everyone!!
Recently, a developer came to me with a multicast packet problem. Apparently
we can't seem to bind the port (5100) to the IP address. The error reads:

chux01> sendudp
Socket Created
SO_REUSEADDR
SO_REUSEPORT
Socket Bind
IP_ADD_MEMBERSHIP failed: Can't assign requested address 234.5.6.7 Port=5001
Join Died errno=49

Can anyone shed some light on this?? I have a copy of the code if needed. It
may be a coding problem but I'm not sure.
