SUMMARY : Popper with enhanced shadow security / NIS

Hello...

  My problem was that qpopper 3.0.2 wasn't accepting passwords on a
unix machine running 5.0a/shadow-enhanced security/nis.

  Thanks to all those who responded.

  I did the following and it now works:

        set the 'CC' variable to 'cc' before running configure
        ran configure with --enable-specialauth
        recompiled
