PROFTPD on 4.0D

Hi,

I've just tried to use proftpd with DU 4.0D. But when I log in as
anonymous and do a ls or dir I always get the following error
message:

getsvc: stat of /etc/svc.conf failed
getsvc: stat failed: No such file or directory

Any idea what this could be. I have the /etc/svc.conf file and it
looks o.k.
