Hi,

I've got a performance question with the DEGPA-SA (gigabit ethernet
adapter). I am doing some performance testing
and tried the following test. I have 2 ES40's connected to each other via
gigabit ethernet.

 Node 0---------- fiber cable ------- node 1

  I've created a 1gb file on node 0, and ftp'd it to node 1.
with the default IPMTU set at 1500 (both nodes). File was transfered in 93
secs.

I then up the IPMTU to 9000 on each node. and ftp'd the file again.. File
was
 transfered in 91 secs..

Is this a valid test? Are there any parameters that can be set to increase
performance?
Is Gigabit Ethernet meant for FTP'ing over?

Thank you,
