Trying to get an emulex lp8000 fibre-channel hba up and running. EV67 ES40
running V5.0. Finally found all the stuff on doing a wwidmgr at the >>>
prompt to "format" the firmware. things are looking up but still no there.
couple of questions
1. V5.8 of the alpha firmware will support the card in LOOP. Right now it's
in FABRIC and attached to a hub, not a switch. I'm assuming that's why the
link won't come up. So, once I'm at V5.8 what are the opinions on the link
coming up?
2. I have it on good authority that the Compaq branded card IS the Emulex
card with a special version of it's own firmware.
I this true? Anyone know where I can get this firmware rev and reflash the
card?
YES, I know that contention is that i need to downgrade to 4.0f or up to
5.0a. Not an option at this point. Comments have been made to me that
there are those inside the "Q" that have made this work.
