Dear friends,
I need to convert a Windows native AVI file into an mpeg file.
I would like to do the job on our beautiful alphas (5.0a), but I don't
know how.
I've already installed Multimedia Services (MME300), but I'm not able to
convert the AVI file since transcode gives the following error message:
transcode -infile gic.AVI
© Digital Equipment Corp. 1996, 2000. All rights reserved.
Error:MPEG compression not supported for video in file gic.AVI.
I noticed that T64 Freeware provides a libmpeg.so library, so I tried to
use it in the following way (I did'nt succed anyway!):
1) linking it into /usr/shlib/mmeserver (beside libsoftjpeg.so)
2) modifying /var/mme/system.ini adding the last line
[drivers]
wave=libaud97.so,aud97
wave=libmsb.so
wave=libmmsess.so,mmsess
[installable compressors]
vidc.sjpg=softjpeg
vidc.mpeg=mpeg
3) restarting mmeserver
But it does'nt work.
Can you help me ?
BTW: does anybody know the existence of software running on T64 for
making mpeg movies?
Thanks a lot, Ciao from Italy,
Emanuele
