No, don't use dd. We did this for years with UFS file systems without
any problems, and than did this for some times with (mounted) advfs's.
It is definitely not recommended and we got hit by it twice (advfs
domain panic or something like this in /usr). Even worse, these errors
do not necessarily show up immediately but after a week or so.
Don't use dd to clone an advfs disk! (At least not a mounted one).
