hi folks,
we are currently in the process of moving our servers from a linux
environment to tru64 5.0a.
so far everyting looks good (i've been able to compile perl5.6, a lot
of the cpan libaries and all our own fcgi's on the new without any
problems), but there is one tool we use in the linux environment that
won't work on tru64.
it's called 'heartbeat' and does mainly the following: you connect two
linux boxes via a serial cable. the program just pings over the serial
cable to see if the other box is alive, if not, it takes over the ip-address
of the other box.
so i need a tool which does the same for tru64.
i know that there is the TruCluster Server. we use two ES40 in a TruCluster
for our database system. but for our front-end machines (which are all
DS10L)
we need some 'lighter' failover software.
so i you have any tips / solutions please let me know.
thanx in advance
