Hello all,

Our production server
alpha 4100, DU 4.0D

ifconfig -a
tu0: flags=c63<UP,BROADCATS,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,MULTICATS,SIMPLEX>

sl0: flags=10<POINTOPOINT>

lo0: flags=100c89 <UP,LOOPBACK,NOARP,MULTICAST,SIMPLEX,NOCHECKSUM>
            inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000 ipmtu 4096

ppp0: flags=10<POINTOPOINT>

elan0:flags=C63<UP,BROADCATS,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,MULTICATS,SIMPLEX>
            inet 192.70.133.85 netmask ffffff00 broadcast 192.70.133.255
ipmtu 1500

today, when I came to office. I saw that our production server is not seen
by any tcp/ip connection. Moreover, i could not connect the outside world
...But i could ping the machine own IP and it has found himself..

As you can see our production server has 2 NICs
1- ethernet (10 MBit, copper wire): only LAT conections is done over it (NO
ip address is defined on it)
2- ATM (fiber medium): only TCP/IP connections are done over it.

What is written on the console window is this :

- I still could not resolve the network problem.
Can you recommend anything to resolve this problem ....

- or How can I understand the problem is from network or from our unix host

- And moreover,
what I thought as another solution is to ;

define an IP address on ethernet card ... I hope this will work ...
But I dont know how to define an IP address on such an ethernet card.. and I
dont want to bother LAT connections..

can you help me .. ?

TIA...
