libcurses.so in OSFOBSOLETE subset

Hi,

One of our users has an old application that requires the library
`libcurses.so' with version `osf.1'. The version of the library
that is currently on our Tru64 UNIX V5.0A machine is `xpg4'.

In the `OSFOBSOLETE425' subset there was a copy of the older
`osf.1' version of the library, but this does not appear to
be in the `OSFOBSOLETE505' subset that comes with the 5.0A operating
system.

Is the library available for Tru64 UNIX V5.0A? Can we simply copy the
old library from a Digital UNIX 4.0D machine and set `LD_LIBRARY_PATH'
appropriately?

Attached is a message from the `Progress Knowledgebase'.

Scott

   Title:
   Digital UNIX 4.00D libcurses.so library
   Digital UNIX 4.00D libcurses.so library
   DRAFT COPY - Currently under review and edit.
   INTRODUCTION:
   =============
   When upgrading Digital UNIX version 4.00B to 4.00D Progress cannot run
   anymore because of a library version mismatch.
   WHY YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS:
   ===========================
   Pre 4.00D versions of Digital UNIX used the libcurses.so library with
   version OSF.1. Version 4.00D has the new XPG4 version of the libcurses
   library. Progress cannot use this library with version 8.2 so will
   abort with an error describing this.
   PROCEDURAL APPROACH:
   ====================
   The fix is to install the "Nonconforming Curses Library", which is in
   the OSFOBSOLETE425 subset on the Digital UNIX 4.00D OS Disk.
   This is documented on page 8-2 of the Digital UNIX: Release notes for
   version 4.0D manual, in chapter 8 "Features and Interfaces Scheduled
   for Retirement".
