It looks like it could be the version of HSOF. The Release Notes for HSOF
7.3 for Digital UNIX mention that limitation. I got the Release Notes for
HSOF 7.7 for Compaq TRU64 UNIX (thanks to Colin Walters) and that
limitation is not mentioned anymore.
Thanks also to Rich, Wayne and Niels.
Note that I did not experience any problems, I was only going through the
release notes and planning the setup. If I ever have problem with that I'll
make sure to post it here.

My question was regarding the limitation mentionned in the RAID Array
7000/Enterprise Storage Array 10000
HSZ70 HSOF Software Version 7.3 for DIGITAL UNIX - Release Notes.

Section 6.0 Operating Constraints. Sub-section 6.2 Disk Geometry Limitations.
"The following presents known limitations that the DIGITAL UNIX Operating
System has regarding storage unit size:
-Stripesets should have no more than 11 members using disk sizes of 4 GB or
9 GB
-RAIDsets should have no more than 12 members using disk sizes of 4 GB or 9 GB

The following Errors may occur if these limitations are not followed:

-Number of heads exceeds the limit of 64
-Unable to mount LUNs"
