Ooops,
On an Alpha 4100 running DU4.0D enhanced security, I tried to "stop"
password aging on the root
account by setting the lifetime and expiration to 50 years.
Attempts to log back in as root failed, and now the account is locked. The
console is a graphical
terminal, and it appears to be locked (no keyboard response).
Is there a way to resolve this short of booting to mini-root and editing the
password file?
If not, what is the procedure for "editing" the password file in an enhanced
security environment?
Thanks for your help,
