Adding a 2nd NIC to 2100 (3.2c) How do I know which Slot?

This is for a 2100 running 3.2c (yes it's old).

Since we are going to be replacing our 10mb NIC with a 100mb NIC, rather
than
toss the old NIC, I'm going to add it as a second NIC, and run all our
printers off
that NIC, as to not slow down our primary NIC, and also add some security
that
someone on our primary NIC can't sniff our print jobs (I'm not running
packet forwarding
or bridging).

>From what I gather, Before I can configure the new NIC, I need to add it to
the
kernel and rebuild. OK. Now my question:

The kernel file needs to know which PCI slot the tu1 will be in.How do I
know
this info? Do I put in the card into the next available PCI slot, boot to
>>>
and show config? Will the "system" recognize the ewb right away or do I need
to do anything there (aside from setting the speed and connection type).

Once it shows in show config, boot, add in tu1 to kernel config file, boot
to
genvmunix, doconfig, copy new kernel, reboot and ifconfig and update
rc.config?

Did I miss anything? (aside from backing up old kernel - config and
compiled)
