Summary: Want to add a 18gb drive to a RAID (JBOD) set

Well. Apparantly, I'm not in much luck here.

The largest drives supported by the KZPSC (PCI version)
        are:

        RZ1DB-VW
        RZ1DD-VW
        RZ1DF-VA
        RZ1DF-VW
        RZ40-VA

An 18 GB drive might work as a JBOD, but the whole
family of Mylex controllers has a 32 GB maximum
        unit size.

The 32 GB limit is per-unit. For 18 GB drives that simply
means that you can't use them any sort of RAID. That's
probaby the reason that they weren't qualified on those
array controllers. If they work and work to your satisfaction
then it may be worth the risk of not being supported.

End result. We are going to add (2) 9gb drives (RZ1DF) to maxout our
internal drive space.

Afer upgrading to 4.0d, we will add in a KZPDA (if we can find one) and
hook up an external drive bay and add in the 18gb drives there. Assuming
of course if we have the spare PCI slot!!

Thanks

George
