First,
Timothy Brown: Confirmed that he has a few KGPSA-BC HBA's up and running on
ES40's running 5.0a. So that proved they should/could work.
The majority of the responses indicated that I need to add "config_driver
emx" in the system config file.
I had not done this as I assumed, that because the emx driver tried to
load, it was in there. The old "assume" pitfall again...
Dr. Tom Blinn sent me a email that contained a lot of information. Part of
which he stated that Tru64 would try to load the kernel driver "emx" even if
it was not in the system config file and that I should make sure that the
"config_driver emx" was in there. This confirmed what was happening on my
system.
I then added the "config_driver emx", did a doconfig/reboot and the card is
working!
I received a few other comments on having problems with slot 1 and 2 on
PCI-0, so I moved the card out of these slots to be safe.
Thanks for everyone's help, we are up and running ;-) I may learn this Tru64
stuff yet..
Question posted:
Tru64 fans,
I have a ES40 running 5.0a and I installed a PCI Fibre Channel HBA
(KGPSA-BC). When the system boots I get a error loading the "emx" driver;
vmunix: Driver_support: Module emx failed to load. status:22
2 questions;
1) Anyone have a KGPSA-BC running on a ES40 at 5.0a? Compaq claims we need
a KGPSA-CA, but the info I have looked at suggests that the KGPSA-BC should
work.
2) Anyone know what the status 22 means?
