I have thankful you are out there. I have restored my system from Alpha2100 to ES40. Restoring root and /usr by booting from the CDROM and mounting under /mnt and restoring. I had to edit the disklabel, in an ascii file, and used disklabel -R -t ufs /dev/disk/dsk0c SWXCR /mnt/jane.disk
did newfs /dev/disk/dsk0a SWCXR
newfs /dev/disk/dsk0g SWXCR
disklabel -W /dev/disk/dsk0c (to make writeabel)
..then restored... now I cannot boot . Things look good ,states disc had bootable parition,
(using boot dra0 -fl s). Then when it gets to
Starting secondary CPU 1 it hangs for quite awhile and then the error is
