NFS client problem with Tru64 5.0X

Hi,

I have noticed a strange problem when using NFS on Tru64 UNIX 5.0
and 5.0A machines as clients.

The Perl script attached generates an empty db file. The normal
size of this file is 32 kb. That's what I get when using the
Perl script on a local file system on a Tru64 UNIX 5.0x client or
on any file system (local or NFS mounted) on a Tru64 UNIX 4.0x
client.

Now, on a Tru64 UNIX 5.0x client, when I use this program on an
NFSv3 mounted file system, the size of the empty db file is
256 kb. And I get this for avery kind of NFS server I tried
(Tru64 UNIX 5.0A and 4.0F, NetApp). The size of the db file is
normal when I mount the partition using NFSv2.

It seems the problem only appears on Tru64 UNIX 5.0 and 5.0A
clients using NFSv3 file systems.

The latest jumbo patch for Tru64 UNIX 5.0A doesn't solve this
problem and there is only one other patch on Compaq's site, which
is about something else. I couldn't try Tru64 UNIX 5.1 because,
for an unknown reason, Compaq in France (I'm in France) usually
delivers new versions 6 months after they're officially released.

Can somebody reproduce this problem with the same configuration?
Can people running Tru64 UNIX 5.1 tell me what they get?

Thanks for your help.
